Willowmere House Concept Project | RK Hospitality Studio

HOSPITALITY WEBSITE CONCEPT

Willowmere House

A complete booking-focused website concept for a fictional independent country hotel in Kent.

Willowmere House is a fictional concept project created by RK Hospitality Studio. It is not a live hotel or commissioned client project.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Turning a fictional country hotel into a complete guest journey

Willowmere House was created to demonstrate how an independent hospitality website can combine strong visual presentation with practical guest information and a clear route towards direct booking.

The concept centres on a fictional country hotel in Kent offering individually designed rooms, peaceful surroundings and a more personal approach to hospitality.

Rather than creating only an attractive homepage, the project was developed as a complete six-page website covering room selection, arrival information, accessibility, local experiences, hotel storytelling and direct enquiries.

Project type

Fictional hospltality

Venue type

Independent country hotel

Location

Kent, United Kingdom

Website structure

Six responsive pages

Primary goal

Clearer direct-booking journey

Built with

HTML, CSS, JavaScript and GitHub Pages

Create a clear and characterful website for an independent country hotel

Willowmere House was created as a fictional independent hotel concept in Kent.

The website needed to feel warm, established and personal while also helping guests quickly understand the rooms, practical arrangements and route to checking availability.

The goal was not simply to create an attractive homepage. The project needed to demonstrate how a complete hospitality website can support the guest journey from first impression through to enquiry.

The Brief

The final concept balances atmosphere with practical information, allowing guests to explore confidently before making direct contact.

Hotel identity

Present the property as distinctive without relying on exaggerated luxury language.

Room clarity

Make room types, occupancy, bed sizes, amenities and pricing easy to compare.

Guest information

Bring arrival, parking, breakfast and accessibility information into one clear structure.

Direct-booking journey

Keep availability actions visible without making the site feel overly promotional.

Destination content

Show the surrounding Kent experience as part of the stay.

Responsive design

Keep the website usable across desktop, tablet and mobile.

The Challenges

Hospitality websites must answer practical questions without losing atmosphere

Room presentation

Each room needed its own character, visual presentation and practical details while remaining easy to compare.

Guest information

Important questions about arrival, parking, breakfast, accessibility and policies needed to be answered before enquiry.

Direct-booking visibility

Calls to check availability needed to appear throughout the site without overwhelming the content.

Visual consistency

Every image, colour, type style and section needed to feel as though it belonged to the same fictional property.

THE GUEST JOURNEY

Designed around the questions guests ask before booking

The website structure follows the natural decisions a guest makes when considering a stay.

Rather than organising content around internal hotel departments, each page supports a clear step from first discovery through to direct enquiry.

Every stage removes uncertainty while keeping the route towards direct contact visible and easy to follow.

01

Discover the hotel

The homepage introduces the property, its atmosphere, featured rooms, facilities and reasons to book directly.

02

Compare the rooms

Guests can review room character, occupancy, bed type, amenities and illustrative pricing before choosing an option.

03

Plan with confidence

Dedicated guest-information and destination pages answer practical questions about arrival, accessibility, policies and the surrounding area.

04

Check availability

Consistent calls to action lead guests to a structured direct-enquiry form where dates, preferences and individual requirements can be provided.

WEBSITE STRUCTURE

Six connected pages supporting the complete stay

Willowmere House was built as a complete hospitality website rather than a single visual concept page.

Home

Introduces the property, rooms, direct-booking benefits, facilities and local area.

Rooms

Presents detailed room information and a clear comparison of the available options.

Guest Information

Centralises arrival, parking, accessibility, breakfast, policies and frequently asked questions.

Explore Kent

Positions the hotel as a base for countryside, heritage, gardens and local dining.

Our Story

Builds the fictional hotel identity through its history, principles and character.

Contact

Provides a structured availability and enquiry journey.

HOMEPAGE DESIGN

Establishing atmosphere without hiding essential information

The homepage was designed to create a strong first impression while keeping the guest journey clear.

Large hospitality imagery establishes the setting, while the structure introduces the rooms, direct-booking benefits, facilities, surrounding area and route to checking availability.

Strong visual opening
A clear country-hotel identity is established immediately.

Visible booking actions
Guests can explore rooms or check availability from the opening section.

Structured information
The page moves from inspiration into practical decision-making.

Consistent visual language
Typography, colour, imagery and spacing remain aligned throughout.

ROOM PRESENTATION

Helping guests compare before they enquire

Each room was given its own visual identity, practical details and clear route to availability.

Occupancy, bed type, illustrative pricing and amenities are presented consistently so that guests can compare options without unnecessary searching.

Courtyard Suite

A larger suite with a separate seating area and direct access to a private courtyard.

Heritage Double

A traditional room combining country-house character with practical comfort for shorter stays.

Garden King

A bright garden-facing room with a king-size bed, seating area and calm countryside-inspired palette.

GUEST INFORMATION STRATEGY

Reducing uncertainty before arrival

Independent hospitality websites often leave important practical questions scattered across several pages or unanswered entirely.

Willowmere House brings key information into one dedicated page, allowing guests to understand the stay before contacting the hotel.

  • Check-in and check-out times
  • Breakfast arrangements
  • Parking and transport guidance
  • Late-arrival information
  • Accessibility details
  • Children and pet policies
  • Cancellation information
  • Frequently asked questions

Clear information improves confidence and gives direct enquiries better context before the hotel responds.

DESTINATION CONTENT

Presenting the surrounding experience as part of the stay

The website does more than present the hotel itself. The Explore Kent page helps guests understand what they could do during their visit and positions Willowmere House as a base for experiencing the surrounding area.

Countryside walks
Quiet routes, woodland paths and rural landscapes.

Historic places
Country estates, traditional villages and local heritage.

Gardens and nature
Formal gardens, seasonal planting and outdoor spaces.

Food and drink
Independent cafés, country pubs and local producers.

This approach supports the wider value of the stay without distracting from the main booking journey.

DIRECT ENQUIRY

A clear route from interest to availability

The contact page demonstrates how an independent hotel can gather useful enquiry information without creating a complicated booking experience.

The Willowmere House form is for demonstration only. It does not transmit, store or process personal information.

01

Dates and guests

Guests provide their intended arrival, departure and number of visitors.

02

Room preference

A preferred room can be selected, or the guest can request guidance.

03

Individual requirements

Accessibility, dietary, arrival and other practical needs can be included.

04

Personal response

A real hotel would review the enquiry and respond with availability, rates and secure reservation instructions.

RESPONSIVE EXPERIENCE

Designed for desktop, tablet and mobile guests

The website was built to adapt across different screen sizes rather than simply reducing the desktop layout.

Navigation, typography, imagery, forms and room content were adjusted so that the guest journey remains clear on smaller devices.

  • Collapsible mobile navigation
  • Responsive headings and body text
  • Stacked image-and-copy sections
  • Full-width mobile buttons
  • Touch-friendly forms and FAQs
  • Scrollable room comparison table
  • Adjusted spacing and image heights
